Impeachment: Walking the Plank

Impeachment came and went. Likely half the Democrat base woke up to find out Trump was still president. Stock market rose. Life went on. The flimsy nature of this impeachment and Trump’s own statements somehow diminished the gravitas of the idea of impeachment. Even the idea of X% support impeachment compared to Clinton or Nixon at Y date means less now since starting at his inauguration roughly the same percentage of Americans wanted him impeached without any evidence of anything. Monmouth University polls go back to 2017 where 40% of Americans thought Trump should be impeached. These are irrational times. This is all a lame, broken-down circus. Possibly the wildest part of all of this was the odd press conference where Rep. Pelosi appeared to stroke out.

Speaker Pelosi did get her caucus to all walk the plank. This is in reference to the thirty one Democrats sitting in Trump leaning districts. The breakdown is interesting as in some the Democrat outperformed Trump’s performance in ’16 and in others he outperformed the Democrat. She did not even grant the reps in deep Trump districts to break away. In the very long term, this does not matter as redistricting will make everything look far different in ’22, but some of these Democrats are playing with fire in ’20.

This is theater. Trump is not going anywhere. Omnibus bills get signed, the military gets its gigantic funding appropriations and not much changes. Not much has changed. Trump has managed to avoid a new war. Trump has made some tweaks with regards to immigration. Trade is seeing a slight alteration albeit not in a focused manner. We have a much more confrontational stance towards China.

The American system absorbed a big threat. Change? Sure no new war, but parts of the leviathan did not want one. The Pentagon did not want to get into Syria and was aware of how bad the CIA and State programs were for training jihadis and arming opposition. Confronting China? That confrontation with China is just the pivot to China that the regime has been angling to implement for a decade now. Irony being that the most openly or publicly Zionist president in decades is the one that allows us to disengage from the Middle East and focus all regime assets at China.

Some of these Democrats who voted for impeachment and walked the plank performed their temporary duty as the salesmen and puppets for our regime. The regime rolls on.

Remember back when it seemed like Trump might actually do something?

    Heady days, those.

I’m moving to a ranch in the Andes. See you after the war.
